A post before the *brief* silence

Yes, I know...it may not be so brief. I'm trying to keep your hopes alive that I will soon be back in your midst. I feel SO out of the loop. I'm trying so hard to at least glimps at everyone's blogs, but am failing miserably. I hope that, someday in the not-so-distant future, I will be able to go through my entire blog list and catch up...on MONTHS worth of reading. So, please forgive my silence in your comment sections. If you see that I have commented on someone else's blog, please do not be offended.

So, tomorrow is the big day...well, it is sort of a semi-climatic big day. We will sign our lives away on another mortgage, gain the keys to our new home, and move in...our beds, anyway. We won't be moving much tomorrow or Thursday, but WILL be moving a lot Friday and Saturday. YAY! That's about all I can say. I am so excited to invite people over to MY house. *sigh* It's been so long! We can't wait to get stuff set up and organized and liveable.

Saturday, before I got really sick, we went to Ashley furniture. We are big fans of the 0% interest things because we are quite responsible and never go over the deadline. This time was waaaay too good to pass up: 48 months! WHOA! So, we got a BUNCH of stuff and now I just have to wait patiently for it to be delivered. We got, among a few other things, a sectional, an armless chair, 2 area rugs, 2 end tables with matching cocktail (coffee) table, 2 lamps, a chest of drawers for our bedroom, and a kitchen table with 6 chairs. The set is countertop height, so 2 chairs will go up to our bar on the kitchen island. Yes, there were a few other things...indulgences that we just couldn't pass up with the financing. We got a new TV, TV stand, and a 7.1 blu-ray system. Whatever...that's Mark's deal there. You see, the basement is already wired for 7 speakers, so of course, he HAD to have a 7-speaker system. Enter the blu-ray. We are quite excited. It will all be delivered in 2-3 weeks.

Well, that's life right now. We'll let you know when we've moved, I'll post pics, etc, etc. Hope you all have a great day and I'll catch up with you all *soon*. :)

Busy Beavers!

Well, all...I'm busy. REALLY, REALLY busy! Between child training (potty, life skills, discipline...you name it, we're training it! We're doing Love and Logic, but more on that later), utility cancelling, transfering, registering, to organizing, room planning, etc. The list just goes on and on with the things that are going on with us. We have gotten permission to shampoo the carpets prior to closing so that we can just MOVE RIGHT IN on Wednesday evening! YAHOO! We're rather excited.

Notice, however, that the first thing on my list was child training. Need I explain what happens to a 2-year-old and even a 7-month-old when they go to live at Grannie and Grandpa's house for 3-1/2 months? UGH! It is not pretty. My children...are not pretty. They have become spoiled, self-indulgent, sometimes unpleasant children and we are not enjoying that aspect of it one bit. Cassie has been so spoiled that we are having to take about 10 steps backward to retrain her how we want her to behave. Conrey has been a huge headache in that Mom and Dad both freak out if he cries for like 2 minutes, so they run to his rescue. All he wants is to be held and to be held NOW! Ugh. So, we've already begun the process of retraining. It's gonna be a long one. We're doing Love and Logic which has it's good points and bad points. I won't go into that all now, but for the most part, I am liking the system. I'm just not incorporating the things that I don't agree with. :) As for potty training...yup...we're still training. Why? Because of the spoiling and the craziness of life. I fully expect her to be 100% trained within like 1-2 weeks of us living in our own home. The bonus? Most of our home does not have carpet. Easier clean up for momma with those accidents! YAY!

We did our closing work last Friday...our buyers do theirs tomorrow. Our bank account should have a nice little increase for the time being. This means a new table and chairs and dresser for us! WOO HOO! We will close on the new house on Wednesday...Lord willing. We are still waiting on 1 item to come in the mail...Mark's W-2 from Home Depot.

Well, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it. I'll *try* to update again soon, but we won't have internet at the beginning at our new house, so bear with me.

Oh, and I won an award. More about that SOON! :) Thanks MD!

LIES! All lies!!!

OK...not lies, really...I just didn't know where God was going with all of this.

So, the house referenced in the previous post that we did not get...we got. We bought. We close on Jan 28th.

Here is our schedule over the next few weeks and then I'll detail the story:
Thursday night: Head back to our old house.
Friday: Close on our old house.
Saturday: Load up all of our belongings at the old house.
Saturday or Sunday: Bring all of our belongings from the old house to the storage unit in ta-town.
Tuesday evening: Inspection on the new house
Wed the 28th: Close and possession of our new house.

BUSY! We decided that the house that we wanted in the very first place was the best option for us and we decided to accept their offer of taking our final offer. :) Basically, it is a 5-bedroom, 3-full-bath house with lots of great features. We're excited and ready to have a home of our own again!!!

I think that's it for now. I will update more when I can. I'm just trying to get all of the "STUFF" done right now. UGH.

Thanks for stopping by.

MEAN!

WOW! I am a meanie! That was quite the cliff hanger and then I never came back. So sorry. Really, I am.

I have been keeping up with your blogs, though it is usually in huge spurts where I catch up on the past like 3 weeks at once.

Let's see...that house didn't pan out. They held at their price and we did the same. We decided that it wasn't the house for us. They came back yesterday and said they'd take our offer...we said no. We looked at it again in daylight and there was just a lot to be done for a house only 1.5 years old.

We are now working numbers on a house that is brand new...still under construction. It is 2 months out (approx) from completion. There are many pros and cons to it and we're just really struggling with what to do about it. I will let you all know (I promise) when there is more to tell.

Conrey now has 2 top teeth and 1 top side tooth is trying to come in. SO, with his top 2 and bottom 2, that makes 4 total with more on the way. We've all had a cold and Conrey and I are still fighting it. It's no fun.

We're heading to Olathe tonight (my sis, the kids, and I) to do some packing. If you're around, give me a call on my cell and come see us...even for awhile. Also, if anyone wants to watch my kids while we pack...you'd be a great help. Yes, that was a very shameless plug for help. :)

Hmmmm...I think that's about all I know right now. I hope that each of you has a blessed day and I will try to update as soon as I know something about the house stuff. Thanks for stickin with me.
