So, being on the tight budget that we're on, I decided to dye my hair. Now, I've done this time and again since college, though I mooch of mom and get it done professionally at Eric Fisher whenever I'm in Wichita. So, I bought Auburn Blonde. I thought that that would give me a nice, strawberry blonde type color, just maybe a little darker...I was up for that. So, I mixed it up and applied it. A few weeks ago, I got Cassie a little floating mirror for the bathtub. So, once I was rinsed, I was excited to remember that little mirror so that I could take a sneak peek. OH, I shouldn't have done that! To my horror, my hair was not a nice, auburn blonde....oh was CRAYON RED!!! OH MYLANTA!!!

So now, I am on to dye #2 (do I EVER learn?!?) and we'll see what happens here. I'm a bit scared. You're not really supposed to do dye this close together, but I cannot live my life with crayon hair! So, we'll see what happens. I'm going to post before and after pictures when I have the chance. All I can say is OH MYLANTA! I'll let you know how it turns out.

*EDIT* Oh,'s not good. I'm pretty sure that there was ZERO benefit from the second coloring. OH MYLANTA!!! WHAT AM I GOING TO DO?!?!?

SO, the AFTER looks more vibrant, but it was just the really looks the same...oh mylanta........

Oh Devon!!! Can you get into your stylist today? If not, maybe you could call the 1-800 number on the box and they can give you direction into reducing the color. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this, it's got to be stressful. On the bright side, I'm sure you look pretty entertaining to Cassie though and she probably thinks the red is pretty :)

Was it permanent?

Oh Devon...I can't believe it turned out that red!'s a suggestion:
Read what this website says

It says to use dish soap to wash your hair, and she said it took her red hair down about 7 shades!

I would recommend not washing your hair for at least a couple more days though. At least church isn't tommorow!!!!

If that doesn't work, maybe you could try blonde highlights, they'll help tone it down. I do all of my own highlights with the kit from the stores, but I don't use the cap, I get out the old aluminum foil and pick the pieces I want blonde.

Hope that helps!!!

Okay, just found another good idea.

This woman went to a beauty supply store and found red hair toner that comes in a dropper, and she said it worked great!

You should expect a different oppinion from me! HA HA!

How fun! It may not be what you were looking for but what a change!! Enjoy it while it lasts cause when else in your life will you have hair like this? You should go out with some girls and have fun. Do something crazy!! Ummm... go for a LONG walk all over town at dusk and do kartwheels in a park. :)

Try putting your hair in dreads with some gel or put it in pig tails and do your eye makeup with the Cleopatra look. :)

Have fun with it. Dont get depressed. It will be back to normal very soon and it will be a funny story to tell. You even have pictures! You could tell people you hid out and desperatly tried to get it different or you put you hair in dreads and had fun! Good Luck!

Love you Devon!
