Somebody's a Screwball!

So, are any of you the screwball who ordered me stickers of my lovely red face with the ridiculous face? Someone is quite funny.... I haven't received them yet, but I DID get a confirmation of "my" order e-mail. Very funny................ Actually, I know that it is someone in or around Wichita, I just have to figure out who... The only person I know that would call me Devon-Poo would be my darling s-i-l, Laura, but SHE doesn't have a 316 number. Hmmmmm.......

As far as my hair is concerned, it is much, much better. It is now dark, but isn't so red. As it was all fading, it was regaining it's Ronald McDonald appeal (whom, by the way, is my cousin, Brittany's husband's uncle--He's Ronald McDonald!!!). So, I put one more coat of ash blonde over it (I KNOW!!! SO BAD FOR MY HAIR!!!) and it now is the best it's been. If I can round up some batteries, I'll take pics and post them. So, the hair/face in the stickers that I'm about to receive is no more, but it will be a great memory...

So, I haven't been feeling very well as of late. My allergies/sinuses are raging and I just don't feel well. I guess such is life for me, though. Tracy--I'm not coming back over to your house. Callie makes me SNEEZE and ITCH. Callie is a cat, by the way, not my niece, Callie.

Cassie and I are on our way to the pottery painting place to paint a b-day gift for mom and dad both. Laura had my niece and nephew, Caitlin and Ethan, do a mug with their fingerprints made into animals and such and Mom said she wanted one from all of her grandkids. I don't know how much Cassie will cooperate, so I may just try to do Cassie handprints on her's. She IS a 15-month-old, you know!

For those of you who have kids, do you agree that 15 months is where it all goes downhill? Your sweet baby kind of becomes a little terror? That's my theory, only Cassie hit it about a month to month and a half ago. Oh, brother! They say "terrible two's," but I think that it starts much earlier and just progresses.

Well, I do believe that I've rambled long enough. I hope that each of you is well and that your families are doing well also. Until next time.....

Oh, you weren't supposed to know until they arived at your house! Dustin won some contest from Kodak for picture stickers. He said he didn't have an account or something so he used yours. :) So that was your funny brother. He was so excited. :)

Dustin cant get on your blog here. I think when I looked at the pictures on our computer it saved them somewhere. I have told him specifically when he walks up behind me and is snooping at your site that he is not supposed to read this. Don't worry.

I'm glad my Callie doesn't make you sneeze and itch.

I'm sorry about the three posts. I wrote as I was reading.

Does that mean you aren't going to come back to my house either?!?!

YES! :) I wasn't serious about not going over to Ben and Tracy's. I am just a little miserable that night and the next day sometimes, too. Of course, Emberley's bag makes me sneezey, too, so........

Maybe I'll have to stop letting the cats sleep inside of it ;) JK

You better not stay away from house, you wouldn't get to see the Nursery (whenever it gets done) or the little guy.

Oh, by the way we set a induction date in case he doesn't come later this week, GUESS WHAT DATE? Yep, your birthday Sept 7th. However,
I lost my plug (says the doc) and am really soft, a loose 1 CM and ready to go anytime.

OK Devon

Here it goes again. I had typed out a big fact sheet about me, then went back to see if I compared to what everyone else said in theirs, but when I went back, my whole post was GONE! I'm gonna hurt somebody now.

Well, aside from the computer's mouse breaking, school starting, Joe keeping me busy around the farm, JJ starting tackle football practices, I have been keeping my computer time on the bare minimum. So sorry, but its good to know I was missed.

Well here goes the 8

1. Shouldn't surprise me, but it really did, seeing as we are 'half-sisters' and all, but I love to cook and can SO see myself as a chef. Plus, last spring I actually looked into getting a cosmetology degree. Spooky!

2. I love my life so much it's scary sometimes. I was gonna be a big city gal, work in a chem lab and be RICH someday. Instead I live on a farm, stay at home and raise my 3 kids and drive combines for a living. Not so good on the $$$ thing, but richer nonetheless with other things--that are way more important anyway.

3. I love playing sports with my sons. I think because I CAN compete with them, as they are still young (8 & 11) Football, basketball are the best. Too much running in soccer. You should see the bruises I got last week from playing during football practice.

4. I have almost no gag reflex. I can touch my vocal cords with my fingers. Remind me next time to show that magnificent trick Devon.

5. I had an 'in your face', up close and personal introduction with death in 2003--ruptured brain aneurysm. Only my strong faith kept me going. I really only cried once--right after seeing my kids. I was told by the doctor's that I had better get my affairs in order because if I had any complications, I probably wouldn't survive. I wanted to ask if they had the 30 yr old headache patient--uh right? Later they told me that a complication during surgery that might arise, due to the complexity of my aneurysm was that there might be tearing that wasn't fixable. They would wake me up, and my brain would slowly die of oxygen depletion within 48 hrs. Other patients usually lost consciousness within 24 hrs. EXCUSE ME?!?!? Say goodbye to my husband and kids--like that? No way! Well, all is well. I made it through with God's help. I have done a study on angels. The Bible doesn't outline their missions as clearly as I want them to be, but I have come to the understanding that I must have had them with me during my hospital stay. That explains my peace. It was evident to most everyone who came to see me then--even those that didn't believe.

6. When I was young, I would often daydream and wonder what my new last name would be when I grew up. I have caught myself, back in those thoughts, wondering it all over again. Then I give myself a mental shake and say 'its Porter, you idiot...you are already married!' That sure makes me feel foolish. I also can't believe that its 2007 and '08 is coming up close. I thought for sure we would be driving/flying George Jetson cars by now!

7. I love to read and listen to audiobooks. I could spend an entire afternoon browsing through recipe books and magazines. I love to menu plan and make out the grocery lists in my head.

8. My husband is my best friend. HONESTLY! He doesn't take the place of my girlfriends, but he is the one that I share everything with. We talk a lot about everything under the sun.

8 1/2. To clear up any confusion, My name is Camille Darlene Porter. Growing up, I was called Cami for short. I didn't really like the way it sounded with my 'new last name' so I started going by my full name. Cami D is a spin for either Dopps or Darlene, take your pick. Cami D is my nickname from several friends of mine. My husband's nickname for me is Tuffy. I often sign emails with that and call myself that. Its almost part of my identity.

Well, there you have it. Comments or questions? Anyone?
Pretty boring, I know. But thats it...

On the movie Out of Sight with Jennifer Lopez and George Clooney this guy has a dog named Tuffy... it's a wierd scene. That's a good movie.

I'm happy for you, Cami. Your life sounds really nice.

Hey, Devon. Did you hear Dustin's big news! YAY!
